Recently, Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron were featured in the secular news media, debating with aetheists over the existence of God. If it were up to you, how would you prove the existence of God?

C.S. Lewis gave what is to me the greatest “proof” for the existence of God. He explained that for every longing we have there is always a real thing that will fulfill it. For instance, if a person is thirsty - they need something to drink (water exists). When we are tired - rest exists as the fulfillment. When a person has loneliness in their life - only a relationship with another real person can fill that emptiness. Likewise, a universal longing in people’s lives is to know and be known by the “Sacred Other”. This is why all cultures are religious. That longing is real and only exists like all true longings for something real to fill it. The reality that fulfills this longing is the Loving God who created this universe and sent His son to have a personal relationship with each and every person.
